The Senate took 2 cloture votes on Tuesday for the purpose of ending the filibuster led by Senate Democrats on the "Justice for Victims of Trafficking" Act. Needing 60 votes to break the deadlock, Senate Republicans were only able to muster 55 votes each time . . . so the measure has essentially failed.
- While the headlines are blaming Democrats for killing this thing, there were also 3 prominent Republicans who prevented this from going to a full vote. So why did Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell NOT vote in favor of this measure????
